St. Louis University Hospital Pod’s Project (Modular Bathrooms)

Corrigan Company’s scope of work included constructing the Bathroom POD’s off site in a separate facility, simultaneous with the construction of the new Hospital Project.

The SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital Modular Bathroom POD’s Project involved Pre-Fabricating 294 Patient Bathroom POD’s for the new SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital Medical Campus Renewal Project. Corrigan Company’s scope of work included constructing the Bathroom POD’s off site in a separate facility, simultaneous with the construction of the new Hospital Project. Scheduling was critical due to the nature of the just-in-time delivery of the Hospital. An assembly line was implemented for construction including; framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, testing, insulation, drywall, paint, tile, fixtures and inspections. This gave the project the ability to continue working on multiple POD’s at a time, thus not slowing down production. When the POD’s were finished they were arranged in order according to the Hospital’s delivery schedule and shipped to the jobsite.  Once there, the PODs were unloaded and set into their respective location. Constructing the Bathroom POD’s off-site contributed to a cleaner and safer working environment as well as helping to reduce labor, materials, waste, costs, and increase speed to occupancy.
