Bayer (formally Monsanto) Technology Building – Chesterfield Campus

Our scope of work consisted of the mechanical process piping for various laboratory systems, heating piping for air conditioning systems, mechanical sheet metal air distribution systems for environmental control, furnish and installation of associated mechanical equipment, domestic water and plumbing systems, laboratory gas systems, building automation system by Johnson Controls, inclusive of a rainwater harvest systems to achieve sustainability credits to meet a LEED Silver Certification for the project as a whole.

The Bayer Chesterfield Expansion project is a 590,000 square foot addition to Bayer’s West County campus and includes a new parking garage, new office and research space, conference center, cafeteria, 36 additional greenhouses, 13 Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) rooms and 250 additional labs. Corrigan Company was awarded the HVAC systems, process mechanical piping systems and all plumbing work for the new 400,000 sq. foot Research Facility. This project was completed under the LEAN construction process as well as design assist being supplied by Corrigan Company and Lyon Sheet Metal

Corrigan Mechanical Company lead the coordination process via 3D modeling. This process involved our in-house drafting department converting 2D design documents into a 3D model which eliminates many uncertainties prior to starting the construction process. Upon project completion this 3D model was utilized by Bayer as the Building Information Model (BIM) for use by Facilities Management throughout the life of the building.

• LEAN Construction Project
• LEED Silver Certified
• Corrigan Company installed the HVAC and Plumbing for the entire project
